AudioMelody was the first site that I developed, starting off as Musicware way back in 1999. In the early stages, the site was static html and simply offered reviews and downloads of the growing number of freeware/shareware/open source audio software made available on the internet. Over time the size of the site became unsustainable in its original form, and so an in-house php/mysql solution was developed in order to make updating the site easier.

However, as the traffic levels grew, and AudioMelody moved into the top ten sites for computer audio production on the internet, there was a need to move the site again to a less resource intensive CMS. After a long time evaluating the various pros and cons, eZpublish was decided upon due to its extendability and scalability. Indeed, the constant updates of eZpublish has kept AudioMelody running smoothly over the past 3 years, and allowed the site to expand, to no longer be simply audio software reviews written by me, but also to include reviews, news, articles and tutorials written by various audio professionals and musicians rom around the world.

The design of the site was made 2 years ago, and is therefore awaiting an overhaul which should take place in the near future when we move the site to our new server. To give you a slight preview of the new design, it will be a tableless CSS design, and should therefore load more quickly and look the same on all browsers. However, the content will be moved across in all it glory, with more new features added after the move.
