The Blue Walrus started off in 2006 as a way for Tim Dickinson to share some of his favourite music and mixtapes of unsigned and under-appreciated bands with a wider audience. Djing at parties and making the mixtapes for road trips were no longer enough, and his passion for music spilled over onto the internet in April 2006.
The Blue Walrus has grown from these humble beginnings to a fully fledged new music portal with a small but dedicated team of staff writers who work alongside Tim in scouring gigs and the web for new talent. This has found them appreciated across the spectrum with mentions in The Guardian, interviews and profiles in The Evening Standard, shout-outs on MTV and XFM and putting on live shows themselves.
The Blue Walrus is one of the oldest and best established music blogs in the UK, taking indie and underground gems to a wider audience and works alongside the BBC and 22tracks amongst others.
